Last year was tough.

A year I am sure I will look back on as pivotal

but still tough.

So 2017,

please be gentle.

I am hoping for growth;

kindness; and lots more shopping.

WHAT TO WEAR // CHRISTMAS DAY

Presents were unwrapped, many glasses of bubbly were dunk,

and far too much food was eaten.

Which meant the skinny high rise jeans were resting on their laurels in the wardrobe,

while another pair of trousers had to be sourced that would allow me to eat my own bodyweight

in nibbles and stuffing.

Luckily these beauties were hanging in my wardrobe waiting for such an occurrence.

Comfy yet stylish and definitely fast becoming a regular fixture in my wardrobe.

HOME-BODY & BLOG PLANS

When I am in the mood I love to go out and paint the town red and firmly let my hair down but sometimes quite a lot of the time I love being at home and doing home-y things.

So rock 'n' roll, am I right?

#OOTD // THE BOOTS I HAVE FALLEN HEAD OVER HEELS FOR

Sometimes you see something and your heart skips a beat.  That is the sign of love at first sight which totally exists despite what anyone says because I fell in love with these boots at first glance.

COSY SUNDAYS

Sundays for me are for big snuggly jumpers, cups of tea, blankets on the sofa with a family film on.  Ideally there would be some good food included along with some time reading the Sunday papers.  

Sadly I do not always get to tick all these boxes but one thing I have got down is the big snugly jumper because of course that had to be the number one priority.

#OOTD // THAT SKIRT

In winter I go one of two ways.  Either: skinny jeans and layers and layers of jumpers which makes me somewhat resemble a sparrow; or I pull out a skirt, normally above the knee, and a pair of thick tights.

#OOTD // FEELING THE CHILL

I wore this outfit on the first day of October when the temperature suddenly dropped and it felt like Autumn.

September with its mildness had made me forget how chilly the early mornings get, but really I am loving it because I was sick of the unpredictable humidity and just wanted the crispness in the air so I could break out my new boots.

SCARF LOVE

Scarves have been everywhere recently and they are the easiest way to inject a bit of colour, print or designer glamour into my wardrobe.

This is my favourite scarf of the moment which means I want to wear it as much as possible cue me spending a lot of time trying tot hike of different ways to wear scarves.

LADY IN RED

I am not really someone who wears bright colours rather sticking to neutrals but every so often I seem to come across a dress that challenges this and makes me step outside my comfort zone.

PJ TOPS & SATURDAY MORNINGS

 

Hello!  It has been a while: the joy of having no internet.  But now I am back with one of my favourite outfits that I have worn recently.  I hope you like it as much as I do.

THE CROPPED LIFE CALLED ME

It started in a chaining room in Urban Outfitters (I know do I shop anywhere else?).

I was looking in the mirror and trying to decide what I thought.

PLAYSUITS :: TO BE OR NOT TO BE?

Playsuits are something I love in theory.

They look like a dress but have the benefits of shorts.  No need to worry about gusts of winds leaving you red faced.  Yes I might have first hand experience of that embarrassment and rather not relive it.

Also there are so many really pretty ones just waiting to be bought.  They are so popular this year and are literally everywhere.

BIKINIS & BODY CONFIDENCE

Bikinis are what nightmares are made of: fact. The reality of seeing my reflection in a changing room mirror where it seems all my lumps and bumps are on show, well it is no wonder I put it off buying them.

But this year I decided it was going to be different.  It was about time to face my lack of body confidence head on.

I have never been the most confident about the way I look: that is what glasses from a young age and a long period in the awkward years did to me.  But after Ava and Esme, well, it has to be said any body confidence I had had disappeared.  Suddenley my body had changed so much and it no longer felt like mine anymore.  There were lumps and bumps that hadn't been there before and this thought of "I'm a mother can I still wear this?" ran through my head far too often.  

WHITE & WHITE // BEGINNINGS

There is something so fresh and clean about white clothes.  They look so crisp and chic until someone comes along with their mucky little handprints (I'm looking at you Meme!)

COCKTAIL O' CLOCK // ME TIME

Since having Ava until relatively recently I have spent nearly every day looking after her and putting her needs before my own.  And then when Esme joined the party I did the same for her.  Whatever my girls needed I tried my best to provide it for them.  That is unconditional love for you.

STRIPES & SIMPLICITY

Sundays for me are all about ease, well apart from the early wake up call for the gym.  But with that out the way then it is about comfort all the way.

A MUM WEARING MOM JEANS

Oh the irony a Mum wearing Mom jeans.  

And yes I am quite smug with my little caption and am giving myself a big pat on the back.  Well done Lottie!  Well done!  Maybe I will even give myself a slow clap.  

THE STRAIGHT LEG

I am a skinny jeans type of girl, the skinnier the better.  But earlier this year I decided to take the brave step of stepping out of my skinny comfort zone and move to the straight leg!!!

I know!  You can gasp in terror if you want to.  

All the cool girls on Instagram made me do it.  They all look so effortlessly styled with the hems of their straight jeans slightly rolled up to show their ankles.  So of course I jumped on the bandwagon.

ALL TIED UP

This is one of those outfits that can take you from day to night and that is perfect for the tricky day date.  The heels make it feel that you have put in some effort while the rest of the outfit is pretty casual.
