The Lake District is somewhere I have been visiting since a very young age. It is a place that I have taken for granted and probably never really appreciated until recently, until my last trip a couple of weeks ago.
I had forgotten how beautiful it is especially if it is not raining, which is a massive if! But there is just space to breathe and contemplate. Space to escape to.
We stayed at the Swan Hotel near Newby Bridge which was amazing: incredible river views, really nice and kid friendly but not being overly family orientated; swimming pool and the comfiest beds ever.
Other places of note: the Lakeside & Haverthwaite railway; Ullswater 'Steamers'; The World of Beatrix Potter attraction at Bowness; and the Windermere ferry.
But really this post is all about the photos...enjoy.
